Panic Attacks?

Welcome!

Dumfries & Galloway Social Anxiety Support Network is a new group offering friendship and support to sufferers of Social Anxiety in the south-west of Scotland.

Around 1 in 4 people will suffer from a mental health problem at some time in their lives, with anxiety and depression being the most common problems.

It is very easy for people suffering from Social Anxiety to develop feelings of extreme loneliness and isolation, and it is particularly easy in a largely rural area like Dumfries & Galloway where there are not the same opportunities for help and support as there elsewhere.

Our aim is to build a network of members across the region for mutual support and understanding. It is hoped that relaxed, informal meet ups can be held on a regular basis at a mutually agreed location.

If you have Social Anxiety, or would like to find out more about our group, please email us at socialanxietysupport@hotmail.co.uk

UPDATE 04/05/12...

Due to personal health issues the site and group has been non-operational for some time, however due to interest from new visitors to the site I have decided to keep it going and also keep the discussion forum open for members to chat about social anxiety and share their experiences.

Although I still feel unable at this time to organise meetings, I hope that we may be able to restart these at some time in the future. In the meantime I would encourage members to use the discussion forum to meet others who are going through the same problems, and perhaps arrange their own informal meet ups for coffee and a chat.
